Come out, Come out..Wherever you are??!!

It seems we have lost something...of great value...sleep! Hudson's ability to sleep beautifully through the night is now MIA. Tyler and I always joke about him spoiling us because he has done so well with sleep from the get go. BUT now his tune is changing. Over the last 2 weeks he has built a different sleep pattern...you know the one that has no pattern at all! He still goes to bed easily...like clock work, but now he may decide he wants to get up at 1am or 3am...just for the fun of it I guess. And when he doesn't try to get up in the middle of the night then he wants to get up for the day sometime between 4-5! What is going on here? I have always been warned that they go through spurts when it comes to their sleeping issues, but we are not use to this and frankly...it sucks! But its pretty impossible to be upset at such an adorable little face. We are trying our best to let him soothe himself back to sleep. It would be extremely easy for me to just nurse him back to sleep but we certainly don't want him thinking he can have that anytime he wakes up!

ANYWAY...thats not the only thing going on with our guy. In this last month he has definitely become a baby...no longer an infant:(! Sad and exciting all at the same time. He's all over the place now...rolling everywhere and trying SO hard to crawl. He scoots in reverse pretty well but can't quite get the crawling down yet. He's like a little monkey...contstanty squirming and thrashing about, no longer easy to hold. Much harder to change the ole' diaper now too. He is sitting up independently...yay!He LOVES his pugs...laughs at them frequently and is always reaching for them. He is a hoot..does something new everyday!

Tyler and Hudson had a great first Father's Day together. Without getting too terribly mushy I do have to say what an amazing father Tyler is. I had always known that he'd be a great man for the job but he has exceeded my expectations:)It fills my heart to watch them together and see the happiness on both their faces when they are together. I love to hear Tyler talk about all the things he can't wait to do with Hudson...there's nothing like it. Hudson is a lucky to have such a great daddy and I am lucky to have such a great husband, partner, bestfriend:)

Ok..ENOUGH tootin Tyler's horn...enjoy some pics!

Happy 1/2 birthday!

Today Hudson is 6 months old! Thats sounds so old to me...I mean 1/2 a year has gone by! Insane. When I hear other people talk about their 6 monthers I can't grasp that mine is actually that age now too...I guess in my mind he will always be my teeny tiny 5 pounder:) BUT he is definitely a growing boy! Learning new things everyday and loving his baby food more and more. But don't be confused...he's still a nursing fool! Lately he has been doing lots of screaming just to hear himself...he thinks he's hilarious. He wants so bad to be able to be mobile...but I think he's got a little ways to go before he'll have the crawling thing down. His teething seems to be out of control these days! I think I could fill up a 10 gallon bucket with drool by the end of the day and he stuffs his hand so far in his mouth to gnaw on those little fingers that he gags himself....daily:) But no teeth yet. He's so much fun and Tyler and I laugh constantly at this big personality that is shining through....its great:)

Some recent pics....and an "oh so cute" video:)

SPLISH SPLASH

Hudson has figured out how to splash in the bath tub...its too cute! He gets so excited and in the process gets me soaked! We will be moving bath time to the actual bathtub now. Here he is going at it!

Water Baby!

Hudson had his first dip in his baby pool this past weekend. Based on the picture on the outside of the box, I thought it would be plenty big for me to lounge in there with him...not so much! But I still managed to squeeze myself in there no matter how ridiculous I looked or felt....anything for my little babe;)He did pretty well. Obviously he is not sitting up independently yet so its hard for him to "play" but he seemed to enjoy his time in there and grace us with a few of those heartmelting smiles and giggles. Its a lot of preperation for about 15 minutes of fun (getting the pool set up, warming the water, getting toys, towels, sunscreening the little monster)...but we don't mind.

I love my pool!

"Do I look like I want my picture taken again!"

Big boy!

His new favorite toy these days is a washcloth. He grabbed at it in the bath the other night and immediatly put it in his mouth. Ever since then we cannot have bath time without 2 washcloths...one for him...and one to wash with. Don't try and take it from him unless you want bath time to turn ugly;) We gave him one to play with in the pool too....its his new bestfriend!

Yay...a washcloth!

Operation DEswaddle!!

SO Hudson has been swaddled at night since the first day we brought him home from the hospital. At about 6 weeks he started to fight it so we left his arms out, but swaddled the rest of him. Since then thats how we've done it...everynight.....and he has slept...well:) But I knew the day was coming. Everynight Tyler and I would look at eachother and discuss if we wanted to let him try it without...and then we would decide to procrastinate...beacause we didn't want to rock the boat and give up our nice 7pm to 6am sleeper. But Friday night we decided to bite the bullet. Besides...we figured Hudson might be made fun of if he went to sleep over at a friends house and brought his swaddle with him:)

So to transition him we put him in a sleep sack....kind of like a sleeping bag with arms. It gives him the freedom to move around as he wants but still keeps him somewhat "closed in". Now that he has been rolling fom his back to his belly (he started this at a litte over 4 months) he has decided to try to do it at night and when he can't get going the way he wants because he is swaddled, he gets rather frustrated:) But to our surprise he did great! He let out a few "out of the ordinary" cries the first hour he was down, but after that it was smooth sailing:) He even slept in until 7:15!!! We were shocked! He has been doing great ever since then....I guess he didn't need the swaddle as much as we thought he did. Way to go Hudson...we knew you could do it! My little baby is growing up:(

A few cute pics!

Funny Baby!

I shot this video of Hudson laughing a few weeks ago and have been meaning to post it ever since. Please excuse the fact that I kind of sound like an idiot....repeating the same phrase over and over, but when something gets them laughing...you'd be amazed at all the silly things you will do to keep it going!
